What if?

What does it take to shift perspective?

What if we made Shifting Perspectives a game – a game that challenges us to see how many different ways we could look at a situation in a limited amount of time? It’s also a fabulous technique to use in self coaching or working through a particular life situation with your coach.

When we own our experience, we accept responsibility and our perspective shifts. This shift can change our emotional landscape, our attitude and our energy. Shifting perspectives consciously develops agility, openness and the ability to be fully present-attuned to self and awake to the moment. I love the what if approach to the process of shifting perspectives

What if the presenting moment revealed everything you need to know and, what if you were, in fact, free and able to receive the presenting knowledge? What if all that was needed of you to receive this knowledge, was to be centered and grounded, emotionally calm, attentive to the moment and prepared to act? How would this information change your life?

I am increasingly aware that I manifest my experience; how feelings associated with the perspective I hold shape my life’s unfolding. The practice of consciously shifting perspectives helps me become aware of the duality between thought and emotion. Witnessing my experience, helps me recognize my emotions, as fleeting and changeable as clouds, without attachment; without judgment…

Three powerful enabling perspectives I embrace are:

  • I am one with the Universe – requires no action
  • This too shall pass – releases emotional fixations
  • Love is all there is – enhances the experience of flow
